These paintings are a molecular and forensic act of creation. Containing granular detail they are an attempt to obtain a true and honest realism.
However jarring against this organic and tangible reality is a feeling of fabrication, interpretation and artifice. Blue gridlines confront this naturalism and the images are always edited and manipulated in some way.
Rooted in tradition these paintings investigate the very contemporary theme of the blurred boundaries between what is real, what is fake and what is interpreted.
